Music Concert Performance Evaluation
1. What were you hoping to achieve as part of your arts project?
To gain confidence and perform in front of an audience.
To gain confidence and perform in front of an audience.
2. What was involved in the rehearsal process?
Just constant practice.
3. What skills do you think you have developed as part of this project?
I have developed confidence and some musical knowledge/terminology.
4. What do you think went well in the performance?
I think pretty much everything went well in the performance.
5. What do you think went less well?
The only thing that could have gone better was when the lead singer for Love on the Brain had a slight slip up due to nerves, however, she pulled herself to finish the performance well.
6. Do you think that you achieved your arts challenge?
Yes, my challenge was to gain confidence and to perform in front of a crowd and I have done both.
7. What could you improve or do differently?
We could improve the arrangement of Price Tag as it was pretty last minute and could have been done a lot better if we had more practice.

11/12/18 - Rehearsal for Music Concert
In today's rehearsal for the music concert we were in the theatre where the concert is taking place and performing for a sound check. We sang both the songs we will be performing on the night, those being Love on the Brain by Rihanna and Price Tag by Jessie J. Both songs were performed well and sounded professional. However, the only part of the piece that I feel was lacking would have to be the performance aspect. I feel as if the backing-vocals could add more movement to their side of the performance as right now there is only a side-to-side motion for them to complete. During the rehearsal we also went over the performing order and what we have to wear for the performance.

No Human Is Illegal - Review
No Human Is Illegal is a performance about the migration and refugee crisis around the world. The piece captures not only the feelings and possible thoughts of the refugees themselves, but also that of the British public and how ignorant and selfish people can be.

Part D
One artist that I admire would have to be Shawn Mendes.
The reason why I like him is the way he built his career. He started off by singing acoustic covers of songs on YouTube and on Vine when it came out in 2013. After this he was then recognised by Universal Island Records and released his first studio album called Handwritten in April of 2015 at the age of 17. He has gone on to be one of the most popular and talked about male singers of the past decade. He released his third studio album titled Shawn Mendes in late May of 2018 which holds songs
People usually get involved in this art form at a young age and hold it either as a passion for life or go ahead with it as a career option. However, I began to enjoy music around the age of 11 after I was a singer in my primary school assembly. I really enjoyed the experience and wanted to do it all over again so now I am doing music for my silver arts award challenge to take myself further in my confidence with singing.

Part A
The art forms that I am mainly interested in are music/singing and film. These art forms interest me because they are very creative and allow me to express myself as much as I like.
My arts challenge is going to be through the music club and I have chosen this because I am very interested in music. I have always wanted to better my singing and learn an instrument, the two I have attempted to learn in the past are acoustic guitar and piano.
My strengths in music are:
I can play acoustic guitar and piano to a basic level
I have a broad knowledge of music and enjoy listening to different genres such as jazz, R&B and pop
My weaknesses in music are:
I am extremely shy until I'm fully comfortable with everyone while singing in a group setting
I have a very basic knowledge of reading music and would like to improve
The outcome of my arts challenge will be to strengthen my confidence in my singing voice and to potentially begin to learn or deepen my understanding of an instrument. This will hopefully also allow me to meet new people as I have very little confidence when it comes to talking to people for the first time. My personal targets within this arts challenge will be to sing in front of a crowd with confidence as I struggle with this a lot.
In order to record my evidence of the arts challenge I will be recording some of the sessions I go to. I will be attending music club at least once a week throughout the year
My final arts challenge is going to be for me to perform in a music concert. This will involve me singing in front of a live audience which is hopefully going to boost my confidence, which is the main purpose of my arts challenge.
